YBI Building Demolition(R/W) 04A1701 • a contract to remove three USCG buildings and one state building executed as a right-of-way service contract
YBI Substation & Viaduct Retrofit 04-0120G4 • a contract to construct a replacement electrical substation on YBI near the westbound on-ramp and complete relatively simple bridge retrofit work near the YBI tunnel (this work is combined due to the close proximity of the work)
SAS E2/T1 Structures 04-0120E4 • a contract to construct the Self-Anchored Suspension bridge in-bay foundations, the main tower (T1) and pier E2 just to the east of YBI

Analysis has determined floor beams are vulnerability to unseating.
Frame 2 - Typical Section • Construct Concrete Collars at counterforts and short columns • Construct Seat Extensions Top of Wall Typical Section Near Bent 37 Design Note: Counterforts support short columns along the north edge of deck. Analysis has determined inadequate shear capacity of the short columns. Additionally, floor beams are vulnerability to unseating.

Strengthen (encase) longitudinal girder beneath ramp. • 4. Strengthen (encase) and tie-down, ramp column footings. • 5. Construct seat extension and bolster at ramp abutment diaphram. • 6. Extend bent caps to ramp columns. • 7. Construct shear wall and retaining walls. • Demo and widen deck from bent 41 to just beyond • bent 42 (not shown). Design Note: Analysis has identified that the caps and girders are not capable of resisting the column plastic moment.
