  2. Statistics • Extent of crime - Uniform Crime Report - nature / extent / trends - FBI annual report - crimes known to police a. Crime Index: Part I offenses - region / state / city - 10,000 city / 25,000 county population - universities / colleges - crime trends

  3. Statistics (1) Part I offenses: - HARRBLATA - homicide / assault / rape / robbery - burglary / larceny / auto theft / arson (2) Crimes cleared Personal crimes - Homicide = 67.2% - Assault = 57.3% - Rape = 52.8% - Robbery = 24.9%

  4. Statistics Property Crimes - Burglary = 13.8% - Larceny (theft) = 20.5% - M/V Theft = 14.9% - Arson = 15.7% (3) Persons arrested - ages / sex / race - location of arrest
