  1. The boom of Indian digital gaming industry during the pandemic Started in the late 2000s, fantasy cricket reached its peak when the pandemic struck the Indian subcontinent pretty badly. People lost their jobs and there were people who were in a lot of debt. However, things were impossible to solve as the entire country was under strict lockdown and the movement wasn’t that easy. So, in that time, a lot of people lost their jobs and the daily earners had nothing to do and with that, no income. That was the time when fantasy cricket emerged in India. A lot of credit goes to different cricket fantasy apps that were very friendly and most importantly managed to convince everyone that fantasy cricket isn’t illegal and their money is safe with them. Step by step, people started playing fantasy cricket by participating in various fantasy leagues and in return were winning a lot of money on a daily basis. Their problems were getting solved and this helped fantasy sport reach to a height that was not predicted before. This sudden rise of fantasy cricket helped them grow as a business and whenever a business grows, they introduce a lot of new features, new games and so on and with all these new things, customers are earning more than ever. Normal fantasy cricket that was available on the platform was already there but slowly different games were added like Football, Ludo and other such games. 2nd innings fantasy was then introduced in India and Real11 managed to bring a completely new idea and introduced Spot Fantasy where you can play contests in every ball. Other than that, there’s also Live fantasy where you can play a contest for 5 over’s. The rules and regulations are different for every different contest but the users enjoy all the games and a lot more of them are tuning in. Almost 50 lakh users are active and play

  2. different games on fantasy platforms on a daily basis. The numbers are up and rising. Researchers predicted that the number will reach 80 lakhs by 2030 if not more. Thus, fantasy cricket is definitely the next big thing to hit the market. It obviously is very huge at the moment but it has the potential to break all the barricades. Now, without a shadow of a doubt, we all can agree to the fact that the pandemic has boosted the reach of this game. Whether fans used it because they were bored or they used it to earn money is a different question. The fact is that the business has earned a lot of money without making too much noise. Except Dream11 of course.
