  1. SEO BASICS: ALL ABOUT MOBILE SEARCH

  2. There are some basic things you need to understand about the SEO industry. The foundation for your SEO strategy will be based on your key learnings. One of the things you need to know is mobile SEO. Quick Recall! You probably know a few basic SEO terms but let me refresh you. A search engine is a software used for searching the internet for websites. It is a program that crawls, indexes, and retrieves content from the internet for the purpose of answering a user’s query. Search engine optimisation refers to the methods used to improve a website’s rank in the search engine rank page or SERP for the purpose of increasing website traffic.

  3. Mobile SEO Mobile search engine optimisation (or what I’d like to call MEO, but most people call it Mobile SEO) is really just SEO with some tweaks. According to Techopedia, mobile search engine optimisation is “the process of optimising a website for search engine queries originating from mobile devices”. The primary focus of mobile SEO is on-page optimisation techniques to improve speed, content visibility, and easy navigation. Mobile SEO requires a site to have a responsive web design.

  4. Mobile Configuration for implementing your mobile websites: - Responsive Web Design (recommended by Google) It serves the same HTML code on the same URL, but it can render the display differently based on screen size. - Dynamic Serving Uses the same URL regardless of the device but displays a different version of HTML for different device types based on what the server knows about the user’s browser - Separate URLs It serves a different code to each device and on separate URLs. It tries to detect the user’s device and redirects it to the appropriate page. According to Google, there are three main techniques

  5. Google’s Mobile-First Index Google’s mobile-first index uses the indexed mobile version of the page in ranking it in the search engine results page. Before this, if someone searches from a desktop, they would get “desktop results”, and if they search on a mobile device, they will get “mobile results”. Now, regardless of what device consumers use, they will only see “mobile results”.

  6. Conclusion Since there’s still time before the mobile-first index fully rolls out, now is your chance to prepare and learn all about it. Here is a list of mobile- first indexing tips for business which can help you survive this mobile-first indexing era. You can also read the mobile SEO checklist to know more.
