It doesn’t matter whether you’re an expert in the SEO field or a newbie. We all get the same share of experiences. SEO is fun and exciting. It’s great to see your clients reach the best spot, getting a satisfying result after building new strategies. But SEO requires a lot of patience, continuous learning and passion, to top it all off. SEO takes years to reap the rewards of one’s effort to become a success. And because of the waiting time, getting burnt out during the process is one of the challenges SEO professionals face, to which they find themselves questioning the results. Here are three problems that SEO professionals often struggle with:
Lack of education – SEO professionals, receive plenty of emails or sales calls from clients usually asking that they want the work done for them to achieve higher page ranking for their content. They’d typically ask for results, but they never bother to know the process or what the process is all about. And the biggest frustration on this part is when and SEO professionals do not feel effective when their work doesn’t get appreciated by both the clients and the people they work with together. This happens because of less education by those around us. Therefore, we must embrace the opportunity to educate about SEO. We also need to step up to educate ourselves if necessary to gain a more realistic view. And when we work with clients or upper management, we have to set their expectations about specific results that are attainable or not and educate them on the reasons.
Constant pressure – Marketing is more of a series of “what have you done for me lately?” questions that deals with how SEO professionals think they’re not good enough for works they did, but it can go on beyond that. They dug into critical issues, create resolutions and set expectations for clients, but some find themselves draining that passion away, despite having good results and it wears them down. So the best step to take is to celebrate and focus on all winning moments in this type of work. Any single success is considered great things. If you ever get into this field, don’t be afraid to speak up about frustrations or communicate and bring about matters that needed discussing. Your team will always support you.
Keeping up with everything – There may be some people who’re smarter than you in the industry, but never compare yourself to them, or that would only heighten the frustration. And the best piece of advice for this is you have to admit that you can’t be everything. The best you can do is to learn from these people and focus on the things you do good. There will always be something interesting for you to be better with. SEO is a fantastic industry. So it’s important to recognise when you’re getting burnt out so you can figure out the next steps and how to deal with this. It’s all about reigniting the passion.
