  2. DAAD – Definition? Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst = German Academic Exchange Service • Promotes international academic cooperation and exchange • Funding organisation (65 offices worldwide) • State funded • Offers funding through scholarships for study and research in Germany

DAAD Information Center Erbil Requirements Master • Completed BA-degree not older than 6 years! • at least 70-75% grade point average • EPOS 2 years of professional experience • Required language certificate - English at least 550 TOEFL / 6.5 IELTS - German B1-C1 • Requirements of the chosen university! • Varying deadlines! • Application through the university!

  9. DAAD Information Center Erbil Requirements PhD • Completed MA degree not older than 6 years! • At least 80% of MA degree • Supervisor for individual PhD or • Offer letter for structured PhD-programmes • English proficiency: at least 550 TOEFL / 6.5 IELTS • Deadline 1st September each year!

Some scholarships for Faculty Members • Research Stays for University Academics and Scientist - duration of 1 to 3 month • Study Visits for Academics – Artists and Architects - lecturers of Architecture/ Fine Arts/ Music/ Film - 1 to 3 month => 1st of September • Study Visits by Groups of Foreign Students - visit to at least 2 universities - 15 students - 7 to 12 days => 1st of May/ 1st of November • Application through the DAAD Portal!!
