Learn how to create a flipbook that teaches about different types of quadrilaterals, including trapezoids, parallelograms, rectangles, rhombi, squares, and kites. Each flap in the flipbook features properties and ways to prove each type of quadrilateral.

How to Make Your Flipbook: • Take your 3 sheets of purple and 1 white paper and stagger them so that there is enough space between two sheets of paper for you to write something. About ¼ inch. Put the two colors that are the same on top.
Now, fold the top of your papers so that they overlap to make 4 more flaps. You want your top flap to be as big as you can make it to maximize the space you have on the back of it. Staple them at the top. You should now have a flipbook!
BOOK OF QUADRILATERALS • Label your book like this: FAMILY TREE TRAPEZOIDS PARALLELOGRAMS RECTANGLES RHOMBI SQUARES KITES
Properties • Ways to Prove trapezoid: • One pair of opposite parallel sides • Ways to Prove isosceles trapezoid: • Prove it is a trapezoid with congruent diagonals. • . 1. At least one pair of parallel sides 2. Parallel sides are the bases 3. Base angles come in pairs and lie along each base. 4. Leg angles on same side are supplementary. Properties Trapezoids
Copy on the Parallelogram Flap Properties • Opposite sides are • Opposite sides are • Opposite angles are • Consecutive angles are supplementary. • The diagonals bisect each other. Theorems (Ways to Prove) • If both pairs of Opp. Sides are , then it’s a p’gram • If both pairs of opp. s are , then it’s a p’gram • If the diagonals bisect each other, then it’s a p’gram • If both pairs of Opp. Sides are ll, then it’s a p’gram • If one pair of opp. sides are and ll, then it’s a p’gram ll. . . Parallelograms
Copy on the Rectangles Flap. Properties • All properties of the parallelogram. • The diagonals are . • Four Right Angles Theorems (Ways to Prove) • If it has 4 right angles, then it’s a rectangle. • P’gram + the diagonals are , then it’s a rectangle. 3. P’gram + one right angle, then it’s a rectangle. Rectangles
Properties • All properties of a parallelogram. • All sides are equal. • Diagonals are ┴. • Diagonal bisect opposite angles. Theorems (Ways to Prove) • If it has 4 sides, then it is a Rhombus. • P’gram + diagonals are ┴, then it is a rhombus. • P’gram + 2 consecutive congruent sides, then it is a rhombus. Rhombus

Properties • Ways to Prove: • A quadrilateral with two adjacent pairs of consecutive sides of the same length • A quadrilateral with perpendicular diagonals Def: A kite is a quadrilateral with two adjacent pairs of consecutive sides of the same length KITES
Polygon formulas to know: A regular polygon has all angles and sides that are equal in measure.
