NCAA Division I Academic Reforms:Graduation Success Rate (GSR) Graduation Success Rate (GSR) • The NCAA developed the Division I Graduation Success Rate in response to college and university presidents who wanted graduation data that more accurately reflect the mobility among all college students today. • The GSR takes into account incoming transfers who graduate from a different institution than the one they started at and transfers who leave an institution in good standing. NCAA Division I Academic Reforms:Academic Progress Rate (APR) Academic Progress Rate (APR)– multi-year measurement of academic progress and an institution’s retention of student-athletes (those who receive athletics financial aid). The report is based on two factors: (1) eligibility/progress toward graduation and (2) retention. Calculations • Total points earned by team (SA with institutional financial aid) / total points possible. Top Score = 1,000. • Four-year average for multi year rate

CCU Athletics Highlights, 2014 – 2015 • 1 of only 5 schools to send Football, Men’s Soccer, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball teams to NCAA post-season play. • 10 of 18 teams advanced to NCAA post-season play. • 8 teams won Big South Championships (tournament or regular season). • 13 Big South Player/Freshman of Year honors. • 157 All-Big South Honorees.
CCU Athletics Highlights, 2014 – 2015 • 13 of 18 teams (72%) finished #1 or #2 in the Big South Conference standings. • Men’s Basketball in NCAA Tournament for second straight year. • Men’s Football advances to Quarterfinals in NCAA Football Championship Series Playoffs. • Quinn Backus named Big South Male Athlete of the Year. • Men’s Soccer advances to second round of NCAA post-season play for 4th year in a row.
CCU Athletics Highlights, 2014 – 2015 • Men’s Baseball returns to NCAA post-season play. • Andrew Dorn and Andrew Wheeler earn at-large bids to NCAA Men’s Golf Championship for 3rd straight year. • Reggie Nelson qualified for Nationals in the High Jump for the second straight year. • Women’s Golf achieved a program-best team scoring average while earning their 4th conference title in 7 years. They qualified for post-season play.
CCU Athletics Highlights, 2014 – 2015 • Women’s Volleyball made their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship. • Leah Hardeman was awarded BOTH Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors. • Both Men’s Tennis and Women’s Tennis won their regular season championships. • Women’s Softball hit 84 Home Runs, a program and Big South Conference record. Eleven (11) different players contributed to this record. • Performed over 3,500 hours of community service.
CCU Athletics Highlights, 2014 – 2015 • Women’s Indoor Track & Field won their 3rd straight Big South Championship. • Jessica Geibert= Most Outstanding Track Athlete. • Amirah Al Bayyinah = Most Outstanding Field Athlete. • Six All Americans: Shawn McLaws (Soccer), Quinn Backus, Shane Ballard, Chad Hamilton, (Football), Bobby Holmes (Baseball), and Reggie Nelson (Track & Field). • Two Athletes Drafted by Professional Franchises: Shawn McLaws (Major League Soccer) and Casey Schroeder (Major League Baseball).
