What is the Member Network Strategy (MNS)? • We developed the Member network strategy to: • Engage more members • Make leadership with Foresters more attractive and meaningful • Improve Foresters ability to deliver our purpose of enhancing the well-being of families and their local communities
Why Did We Do It? • Community Granting was created to give all members the opportunity to organize local volunteer activities • Focus on developing future leaders and providing interested members with the opportunity to become member leaders • Members are able to focus on organizing meaningful activities in their communities, not administration
5 Guiding Principles of the Member Network Strategy • Foresters purpose guides our decisions; we champion the well-being of families • The benefits of membership must be driven by the needs and wants of our members • Our benefits must provide real and perceived value to members • Our system must be revitalized to engage and deliver benefits to a sizable number of members • It is vital we retain the involvement of our long-standing members
Banking and the Member Network Strategy • Prior the MNS, banking arrangements meant that access to a branch bank account was needed to organize a Foresters event • Only key member leaders had this access • Today, Granting program funds are accessible by all of our members regardless of their tenure, location or experience with granting • Financial oversight of the Granting program is provided by Foresters ensuring that grant funds are properly accounted for
Banking and the Member Network Strategy • Provides flexibility and accuracy around grants funds and allows members with immediate access to funds, via Paycard • Financial tracking is managed by Foresters lessening the administrative burden for member leaders • Ensures a consistent Granting program is delivered to all members across three countries
