  1. RCX Trail Camera System

  2. KEY Features

  3. Key Advantages • Great picture quality, especially at night • RCX-2 has best in class flash range • One controller manages many cameras • Real time video alignment is a big hit • Packed with features, like time lapse, multipicture, video • RCX-1 is a good quality, basic camera • RCX-2 builds on RCX-1 with dual sensors, higher resolution and more LEDs • Great battery life and trigger speed. Recovery time exceptional.

  4. Petersen’s Bowhunting Editor’s Choice Award • On the racks now • Quotes from article: “For multiple cameras the RCX system is my hands down choice” “You buy one kit with a remote then single cameras until your property is covered.”

  5. Research • 1/3 of those surveyed back in November were unaware that Leupold sells a trail camera. Awareness is still building. • Tester experience overall was very good with only 2 out of 23 having problems with the older units that were used in the test. • Market size is huge and we have not taken a significant share yet.

  6. Are We Competitive? • On par with competitors on most features with controller, image quality, sensor range/performance and flash range as differentiators • Black flash models would be nice but not there yet. • No GPS: warn against accidentally sharing location of camera/trophies. • Price of individual cameras is not bad. It is imperative to communicate the message that only one controller is needed for many cameras and that it can be used to view images on SD cards from other cameras. Comparisons need to be between cameras, not kits.

  7. Controller Advantages • People LOVE the real time alignment feature • View images from other cameras • Download and transport images without a bunch of little SD cards in your pocket. • Easy to use interface for RCX cameras • External drive for your computer when an SD card is installed • This is not a ball and chain. It is a cool tool!

  8. History • We were late in 2011 and had some glitches that have been corrected. • New battery trays have “PC-ABS” molded into the plastic on the contact end. • Current firmware versions are: • Camera 3.e.b.c • Controller 3.f.c.v • Older versions generally work okay unless the camera is named with characters other than upper case and numerals.

  9. Tips for Success • Name your camera first, then use Most Picture or Best Picture mode to quickly set both day and night correctly. • If you use custom settings, review all entries of both day and night settings • Be sure you have the new battery trays. Lithium batteries will get 10,000 night pictures rather than just 1500 • Mount cameras at body height of the target animals for best sensor performance. About 3 feet (1 meter) above the ground is typically good for deer
