Bachelor in Education - B.Ed A: Requirements: • Gaeilge: C3 Higher Level • English: C3 Ordinary or D3 Higher • Mathematics: D3 Higher or Pass Ordinary B: Points 2012 • CM001: 465 points • CM 002 (Gaeltacht): 435 pointí C: Student numbers • Circa 110 students in first year Oct. 2012 • Circa 550 students altogether
B.Ed. Programme • Four years full-time. Blend of small groups, large groups and on-line learning • Studies covering • Foundation disciplines of education i.e. Pyschology, Sociology, Philosophy, History, Special/Inclusive Education • Curriculum subjects of the Primary School • Teaching Practice sessions • Placement in a Special Needs setting • Research dissertation in Year 4

CM 010 • Administered through CAO - Minimum Entry Requirements: C3 Higher Level in at least two subjects and Grade D3 or higher in four Ordinary or Higher Level subjects. Outstanding performance on specified FETAC programmes is also recognised for entry. • Points: 310 • All-in Fees: €4,500 (2012/13)
B. Sc. in Education Studies: Programme • 4 year Level 8 (Honours) degree programme • Wide range of courses related to education • Focus on adult education, adolescence and childhood as well as Policies and Practices • Specialisation and optional modules in years 1 – 3 • Work placements each year in a variety of settings – related to your career goals • Research dissertation in year 4

Postgraduate route into Primary Teaching: Higher Diploma in Ed. (Primary) Requires sanction from year to year by DES A. Requirements: Approved primary degree (Level 8) and specific second level qualifications B. Selection process: Interview and oral Irish C.
