mCHP Workshop Session 3: Gas Industry Activity Dr. Martin Wilmsmann E.ON Ruhrgas, Germany Paris, 29/30. May 2008
Content • E.ON Ruhrgas´ mCHP strategy • Organisation/Coordination of mCHP activities in E.ON group • Finished – ongoing – planned activities • Current situation in Germany
Gas Competence-Center Competence-Center Gas Utilization Process & Service Facilities Sector Gas Measurement Pipeline Sector Technical Cooperation Gas Heat Pumps Environment Protection via Support of Sustainable Technologies mCHP devices Keeping / Enlarging of established and new Markets
Key Elements of mCHP-Strategy • technology-open - no exclusive cooperation • no manufacturing activities – no R&D activities role as technology user • testing of a variety of pre-commercial systemsunder realistic conditions • practical experience as basisfor sound assessment of technology • transforming operation experience into forecastsas part of E.ON Energie‘s long term planning model • forecasting of future gas selling ratesas part of energy supply szenarios • assessment of grid implicationsregarding safety and grid issues (power and gas)
