Landforms The Mid-West region doesn’t have many different landforms. It has hundreds of miles of plains and prairies, along with a few rolling hills, but that’s about it.
Climate The climate of the Mid-West region can be very severe sometimes. In the summer, it is very hot and there are lots of droughts. But in the winter, however, it is very, very cold. There are also lots of blizzards in the winter. Despite the hot summers and cold winters, the Mid-West region also has lots of hail storms and tornadoes. As you can see, the Mid-West has a very extreme climate.
Industries There are many different industries. They include farming/dairy farming(short growing season), mining, farm machinery, food processing, auto making, and fishing in the great lakes.
Interesting Facts The Mid-West has many interesting facts. It has the second largest land area out of all the regions in the United States. It touches many bodies of water. The Great Lakes make part of the northern border of the Mid-West region. The Mississippi and Missouri river run through the Mid-West region, and the Ohio riv er creates part of the southern border of the Mid-West region. There are also many big cities like St. Louis, St. Paul, Cincinnati, and Jefferson City. As you can see, there is lots of interesting information about the Mid-West region.
