Mid West Drug & Alcohol ServicePO Box 486Corporate House, Mungret St., Limerick • Service works with: • Young People 14 – 25yrs affected by alcohol or drug use • People 25yrs + affected by drug use • Service provides range of support including: • 1-2-1 Counselling • Outreach Service • Harm Reduction Service including Needle Exchange • Methadone Programme • Drug Education & Training • Accessing the service: • The service offers walk-in screening every Monday (except bank holidays) • 11.00 to 12.30 & 2.00 to 3.00 (no appointment or referral needed)  061 318 633 www.hse.ie  National Drugs Helpline: 1800 459 459 • Local Offices: Ennis, Nenagh, Newcastle West

Young Persons Facilities & Service FundLCAES, Limerick • Established to assist in the development of preventative strategies/initiatives in a targeted manner through the development of youth facilities, (including sport and recreational facilities) and services in disadvantaged areas where a significant drug problem exists or has the potential to develop. • The objective of the Fund is to attract "at risk" young people in disadvantaged areas into these facilities and activities and divert them away from the dangers of substance abuse. • Target group: 10-21 year olds marginalised through a combination of risk factors relating to family background, environmental circumstances, educational disadvantage, involvement in crime and/or drugs, etc. • 10 local drug education and prevention projects in Limerick • Limerick City CDP – 2 Projects (amalgamated from 4: RESIN, Southill Drugs Prevention Strategy, Northside We’re OK and St. Mary’s Partnership) • Northside Drug Education Prevention Strategy • Southside Drug Education and Prevention Strategy • Educare • St. John’s Partnership • Limerick Youth Service Interim Project for Traveller Youth • Limerick City Sports Partnership • Our Lady of Lourdes Youth Centre • Southill Area Centre • Funded by Dept. of Children & Youth Affairs and administered by City of Limerick VEC.
