Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Wrinkles can be successfully treated using a protein called a toxin - an injection into the muscles under facial wrinkles causes relaxation of those muscles, resulting in the smoothing of the overlying skin. In non-surgical aesthetic use the amount of product used is small and extremely safe. It reversibly weakens the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles which are lines that appear when you animate your face. Static wrinkles are lines that appear at rest, these may not improve much with toxin and may be best treated with Dermal Fillers.
What Types of Wrinkles can be treated? There are three main types of wrinkles that can be treated with the toxin. • Frown Lines • Forehead Wrinkles • Eye Wrinkles/Laughter Lines
Frown Lines • Frown lines (Glabella lines) are most commonly seen in patients with excessive sun exposure and those who have over activity of these muscles often associated with frowning. • Frown wrinkles are vertical lines and can signal emotions such as anger, anxiety or fear. • People with these types of wrinkles may complain that their family, friends or work colleagues ask why they frown a lot. • Frown wrinkles are vertical lines and can be successfully treated with this toxin.
Forehead Wrinkles • Forehead wrinkles appear in horizontal lines in the area between the eyebrows and the hairline. • These wrinkles are formed during facial expression to convey emotions such as surprise or empathy.
Eye Wrinkles/Laughter Lines (Crow’s Feet) • Crow’s Feet wrinkles (Periorbiltal wrinkles) are in the outer corner of the eyes and appear more prominent when laughing or smiling. • Crow’s Feet Wrinkles can result from excessive sun exposure combined with the skin becoming less elastic with age.
Cheek Fillers At around the age of 25, the body stops producing collagen and elastin, the two proteins that work together to keep tissue firm and skin elastic, and the existing collagen in the body begins to break down. Without these two proteins, the body begins to display the typical signs of ageing (things like sunken cheeks, hollow eyes, deep lines and wrinkles) as the body no longer has a means of keeping tissue strong and skin supple. Anti-ageing facial fillers are a non-surgical solution to achieve younger looking skin and smooth tired lines and wrinkles, providing natural looking rejuvenated outcomes.
Lip Fillers Our doctors have over 20 years experience in lip augmentation procedures and offer a subtle plumping of lips to leave a full-bodied, youthful appearance. We use Juvéderm Ultra Smile, a product that we have achieved excellent results with, and a lip filler that contains a local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort during the procedure. It comes in a 0.55ml syringe and we are careful to make sure the treatment is likely to give a pleasing aesthetic result and that each client's expectations are realistic. There are two parts of each lip that can be injected - the actual lip BODY and the outer rim, known as the VERMILLION BORDER.
APRP Anti- Ageing Treatment APRP is a fantastic method of anti-ageing treatment now being offered at our clinics, allowing rejuvenation and repair of the skin, using the patient’s own (autologous) cells, with long lasting effects. APRP therapy uses the body’s own blood plasma and concentrated platelets to regenerate damaged skin and subcutaneous tissues just under the skin. It is particularly useful in treating common problem skin conditions such as hollows under the eye, but it can be used anywhere on the face, neck, décolletage and hands where there are signs of ageing or wrinkles or hollows. The plasma may also be mixed with other filler products for an enhanced effect.
PDO Thread Lift PDO therapy is an effective cosmetic technique that lifts and tighten sagging skin tissues by inducing collagen production. It involves the implantation of fine, absorbable polydioxanone threads (similar to those used in medical suturing) into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using small needles. The procedures is usually carried out using local anaesthetic, and there is very little downtime, if any, depending on the treatment area. Side effects are minimal but may include swelling and bruising that lasts 2-3 days, and patients can continue with normal activities immediately after. PDO therapy can be used on the cheeks, brow, jawline, neck, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, arms, thighs and abdomen.
