There was a man named Narcissus. Narcissus was a man who only thought of himself and no one else. He played on his high school football team. One day, he went to the local Exxon gas station to treat himself to a nice, cold slushy. As he was reaching for the door, a old woman stopped him and asked for some water. Being the man he is, he refuses. The old woman is furious, and puts a curse on Narcissus so that he will only be able to earn money, by begging on the streets. Then, she vanished. Confused, Narcissus enters the Exxon, heading towards the “warm foods” isle. When he got to the register, he reached for his back pocket, were his wallet usually was. The manager looked at him, confused. Anxiously, he reaches in his other pocket to see if it was in there, but once again it wasn’t there. “Maybe that old woman was right,” he muttered. “So you gonna pay or what?” said the manager. “No.” He sighed, putting down all the food he had taken from the shelves. With great disappointment, he opened the door and started heading toward his car, or so he thought. When he entered the parking lot, he noticed his car was missing! And it only got worse. Now he has no food, no money, no car. Hope is gone for Narcissus. So in the end, Narcissus ended up on the streets, begging for change, just like the old woman told him. It wasn't long until Narcissus died of starvation. A few days later, the old woman passes by the spot where Narcissus died, noticing the remains of his body. She takes the bones and puts them in a box labeled “3”. When she got home, she put the box on a shelf labeled “I told you so.” The End

Narcissus And The MirrorBy Jada Williams In the tense hours of midnight sat Narcissus, A handsome man who was in love with himself, And ONLY himself. He sat at the foot of his bed starring, Just starring at his reflection. “I have never laid eyes on such a beautiful creature, you deserve a man like me.” Narcissus explained. “In fact, I’ve made a little song dedicated to you.” Narcissus began To sing, but as his voice got higher and higher, the mirror started To vibrate a little until it finally shattered.“My love, my love! I did not mean any harm. Please, oh please Return.” Narcissus sat for hours waiting and waiting, but still No return.“Somebody, help me find my true love!” Soon after Gaea, Mother Earth appeared before his eyes. “Young man, I will help you find your love but first, you must steal Fire from Zeus, but don’t let Zeus catch you.. Or else..” She said. Then she disappeared. Narcissus remembered if he stole something From a God, like Zeus, he would be betraying a God. But, you should Never betray a God.Betray a God, or find my love? Narcissus thought, and thought, and thought until he finally made his decision. The next day he went to Mount Olympus in search of Zeus. There stood Zeus in his silk gown, just standing. As he looked away to admire the doves, he took the fire and brought it down to Earth! Yes, I will finally find my love. He thought, then Mother Earth appeared and she whispered in my ear. “I’m sorry son, but I thought you’d be smarter and not betray a God, especially doing something like stealing fire from Zeus, I’m sorry but now I must take your life.” And so she did.

Zeus’s Goodbyes Connor Shatzer Deep in the dark forest of Plicathmita, Zeus was paying a visit to a bully from 1.3 million years ago. He was a mortal, with great power, that had bullied everyone including Zeus. His name was Hymphrosane. Now that Zeus was the king of all gods, and the most powerful of them all, he decided to get revenge. Zeus did not know what he was going to do, or even if he could, but he knew he had to try. When Zeus got to Hymphrosane’s village, he saw him standing there big and tall. He had the most red hair he has ever seen, flaming fist, flaming eyes, and a huge sword right on his belt. Zeus did not want to get him angry, but he had to rush right at him and try to attack. Zeus tried to shock him multiple times but it did not affect Hymphrosane. Hymphrosane was not clear about what was going on but he had to fight back. As soon as he tried Zeus stabbed his heart right out. Later Zeus’s heart filled with so much guilt it exploded.

Orievatheus Meets Prometheus 500 years after Zeus had chained Prometheus to the top of Mt. Olympus, Zeus still refused to take him off of Mt. Olympus. After an affair with a unnamed woman and Zeus, Hera decided to send her to the underworld with Hades and Persephone so she would be far away from her son. Her newborn son, Orievatheus, was a child who was smart enough to raise himself and teach himself greek. Orievatheus was a handsome young man whose name meant climber. Orievatheus climbed mountains in Greece and he was ready to climb the biggest one of all; Mt. Olympus. The gods warned him not to climb Mt. Olympus because they were worried about humans finding out about Prometheus. Orievatheus refused to obey the gods and he climbed Mt. Olympus for fame and fortune. Orievatheus freed Prometheus from the mountains and Prometheus changed him to a full god in return. When Zeus found out about this he was furious with his son. Zeus decided to eliminate the human race and started a war. Prometheus didn’t want war and he convinced Zeus to stop the war and forgive Orievatheus but there was a catch; Prometheus had to be chained to the eagle again. As for Orievatheus, he decided to help run the underworld with Hades and find his mother. The Minotaur’s Labyrinth ByLarryAndoh
The Great Betrayal Water and fire belonged to the Gods. Fire was mostly Hephaestus’s element but it was still kept with the gods. This was true until Prometheus stole the amazing element and gave it to his pathetic humans. Hephaestus was furious; he later tried to get it back but was defeated at the hands of humans. The disgrace was so much for him he locked himself in his forge with his tools and he only comes out when there is great need. Poseidon, not wanting to face the same fate, asked Zeus to protect his water, but all Zeus promised was to lock up Prometheus. Poseidon did not believe this was enough for his beloved water. Now keep in mind Poseidon loved his water. He made it himself; it took him centuries to make something as pure and clean as that and he thought it needed protection. So he went to his brother Hades and made a deal, a horrible one in fact. Hades promised protection of Poseidon’s beloved water but in return Poseidon had to do something horrific. Kill his own brother Zeus. Hesitantly, Poseidon agreed. Poseidon felt bad about what he was about to do but he had no choice. A thought then occurred to Poseidon that if he didn’t kill Zeus, Hades would never know. Instead he would just simply give him a headache so word would get to Hades that Zeus was sick. Poseidon then went to sleep feeling smug about finding a way to trick Hades and save his creation. But that would not last long. Hades had known his brother would try to outsmart him, so he came with a backup plan. Hades recorded his conversation with Poseidon and sent it to Zeus. After Poseidon had given Zeus the headache, Zeus had not known his brother would never kill him so he himself decided to punish Poseidon in the morning. But as always the morning brought new wonders. Sitting at the head of the bed was a beautiful baby. Her beauty was so much Zeus couldn’t give her up. They named her Athena and she later became the god of wisdom and archery. After Athena was properly fed and bathed, Zeus remembered Poseidon’s attempt at supposedly killing him. A thought then occurred to Zeus; if Poseidon wants his beloved water to be protected why not just let him protect it himself? Zeus then by way of his finger banished Poseidon and his creation to earth where it is now scattered all over almost half the world. Hades had won this time but after Zeus found out what Hades had done he got him back with a little thing called love. The Creation of the Wheel By: Carly Clarke On top of the hill of Olympus there was a temple to honor the Gods. Zeus was staring at it and started thinking about how there wasn’t enough temples and that he wanted more. He was wondering why people weren’t building more. He had to find a way to make the job easier on the builders so that they would build more. He interviewed some workers and got some feedback. They all really answered that the equipment got really heavy after a while to carry all the way to the site. Zeus came up with the invention of the wheel to give to man to make it easier to haul the heavy equipment. Man was so excited and used it all the time. Eventually, they were adding more stuff on their hauls. Advances with the wheel included the wheelbarrow and the Pulley. With the Pulley, they were able to build faster and they built bigger and taller monuments. Move the Minotaur through Maze

The Decision By Morgan Politzer You’ve heard the story of how the gods defeated their father, and then you heard about Prometheus, but you never hear anything in between. How did they choose their relms? Well, once Cronos was gone, Zeus called a family meeting on Mt. Olympus… I was sitting in our family meeting that my brother called. Oh, by the way, I am Poseidon. “Our father is gone. We must choose our relms if we are to be the next age. I have been given the sky by the nymphs. Who shall be the queen of the heavens, and accept my hand in marriage? “ Hera jumped up ecstatically . “Oh I will! I accept, I do! I will be yours for all eternity! I will be the goddess of marriage!” Hades said, with his crackling voice of ashes, yet it so powerful, grimly, “I shall be the god of the dead. I shall be in the Underworld if you need me.” And with a swish of his majestic cloak, he was gone. Hestia was the type of goddess who wants peace, and is all about spending time with family. When we were in our father, she never uttered a word, so I was surprised to hear her voice was soft and melodic, yet strong and passionate. It was like being draped in milk and honey. “ I shall tend to the hearth and flames of the homes of others. Demeter spoke next. “I care about the humans, unlike you all. I shall go to Earth, and give them rolling fields of wheat and food to harvest.” “Why in the name of me would you want to help those worthless, pathetic creatures? They are nothing but pieces of vermin who don’t even know who we are!” Zeus roared! “There is no need to shout. I am right here. And to answer your question, I will help them because they can use the food I give them to create a sacrifice to you. And they don’t know us because we were just thrown up.” You could tell he didn’t like it, but Zeus agreed. “It’s settled then. We all have our realms.” “Hey! I am not satisfied! I have been given nothing! You have claimed all the land for yourselves, you spoiled little brats!” I yelled. I struck the ground with my trident, creating a huge trench. Demeter, being the nature lover she is, the one that makes me sick sometimes, burst into a flood of tears. She sat down in the trench and moaned about all the destroyed dirt and earth. Her tears flooded the trench, and only stopped when she was underwater. She burst up for air, and climbed out. “See what you did!” She screamed! And then a light bulb went off. “That’s it! This is a sea, and it is my realm. I shall create animals for it, and I shall be the ruler!” And that’s how we got our realms and we have lived in harmony ever since, sort of!
Feline Vs Roden By: Julianne Knoblett The day of Hera’s birthday dawned gloriously on Mount Olympus. The palace was bustling with activity. Servants scurried to and fro with ornate decorations. The kitchen was already emitting delightful aromas. The guests began to arrive and were dazzled by the extravagant array of mouthwatering dishes. There was a magnificent cheese platter as a center piece in the middle of the buffet. The goddess Feline casually strolled toward the cheese display. As usual Feline ignored the rest of the guests and acted like she was the most special goddess in the room. She delicately twitched her nose as she daintily selected a morsel of cheese. Meanwhile the god ,Roden, sneakily scurrying around the edges of the buffet table. His nose began to twitch as he caught a whiff of the delicious, fragrant cheese. Quickly rubbing his claw-like hands together, he spied the perfect specimen of mouthwatering cheese. Unfortunately it was the very piece that was resting on Feline’s plate. Roden could not contain himself. Quick as a flash he darted across the table and with one magnificent leap snatched the morsel off of Feline’s plate. Feline emitted a hiss as she swiped after Roden. Roden easily dodged Feline’s attempt by leaping across the buffet table. Feline immediately pursued after Roden. Platters clattered to the ground and food flew threw the air. One magnificent, gooey hunk of creamed broccoli landed on Hera’s fancy hair-do. Hera’s shriek silenced every guest in the room. It was clear that her birthday festivities had been completely ruined because of Feline’s and Roden’s antics. Everyone collectively held their breath as they waited to see what type of punishment Hera would bestow upon the two offenders. Hera proclaimed that forever more Feline and Roden would be enemies, with Roden scurrying after morsels of food and Feline in constant pursuit. And with these final words, Hera transformed Feline and Roden into two new creatures. Today we know them as a cat, Feline, and mouse, Roden.

Some Where Over the Rainbow By: Sydney Ray Once far up in the clouds on Mt. Olympus there was a god named Zeus. He was a clever man but if anyone bothered him or did something that upset him, there would be a severe punishment. He created a young beautiful woman named Pandora. Zeus made her very curious. On one warm day in the middle of April, Zeus came down on earth to check up on Pandora and Epithemus. While he was watching Pandora from afar he seemed to realize that she was a little bit too curious and too self- revolved. So to teach her a lesson he went back up to Mt. Olympus and it started to rain on earth afterwards .Zeus created the most beautiful image anyone could imagine. All the colors were in lines shooting across the sky he called it a rainbow. All of man-kind admired it , except for Pandora. Epithemus heard a myth that a gold pot was at the end of a rainbow. Pandora because of her curiosity had to go and see if this was true. Zeus obviously knew that she would do so. On the way to the end of the rainbow there was ferocious weather. There was high winds, rain storms you couldn’t even believe, and lightning. Pandora was determined to get there so badly she kept going and going and going till no one even heard from her again. Even still today people believe and hear myths about the gold pot at the end of a rainbow. Unfortunately no one has ever made it to find out.

How Fire Came to Be After the beginning of the gods and the end of the titans, the powerful gods known as Zeus, Poseidon and Hades separated and began residing in there own cosmic realms. Zeus claimed the sky, Poseidon chose the sea and Hades was forced to the dark underworld. Hades quickly learned living in the cold and dark underworld without light and heat was difficult. Hades tried many solutions to find warmth and light but all of them failed. In desperation, Hades sought Zeus for help to find an answer for the pain from living in the cold and dark underworld. Zeus’s failed to find an easy solution for the problem. One attempt was placing a miniature sun in the underworld to add light and warmth. This failed as it melted everything including bones, rocks and anything exposed. This forced Hades to move and reside in a house on the Earth’s surface. After many years, Zeus and Hades began to try again. The first attempt throwing thunder bolts against the mountains to generate heat and light but they only blew up into rubble. They also tried throwing bolts of lightening at large animals but that only proved to melt the animals. In one last and final effort to fix Hade’s problem; Zeus began to strike giant redwood trees with bolts of lightning. Something changed! These trees began to slowly burn with a red and orange light generating smoke and heat. Zeus & Hades touched the trees and it burned their hands. Hades opened the earth and let the giant burning trees fall into the underworld creating a pit of fire. This pit of fire was so large Poseidon knew he did not have enough water in the sea to ever put the fire out if called upon. From then on Hades never complained about being cold. And this was the creation of fire. By: Victor LeBlanc
How the Moon rises By: Kayley Tarantino Aphrodite was bored with all the girls. None of them were beautiful enough for her liking. While she was lat in thought about fixing this problem, a little girl was born, named Salean. Aphrodite gave her the gift of love and beauty, and also amazing fashion sense. She grew up the envy of all the girls. As Salean got old enough to marry, she married a very good looking hero. Proud of this she preyed to Aphrodite for her wonderful gift. The more praise she got the snootier she became. She never paid much attention in school. So Salean never learned why Artemis never married. Everyday after she prayed and sacrificed something to Aphrodite she would go to Artemis’s temple and brag that she, Salean, was married and Artemis was not. She would say things like, “You're not pretty enough,” or “Nobody likes you,”. Artemis got angrier and angrier at each comment, and she finally came down to earth as an old woman and told her to forgive Artemis for what she said. But Salean bragged on. Artemis felt like she was pushed of the edge. “If you feel you are better then me, we shall have a contest.” Artemis challenged. “Do you except?” Salean was dumbfounded. She did not expect Artemis to actually hear her. Salean could not refuse. Artemis took her up to Mt. Olympus were they would have their contest. On the way up Salean said, “Artemis, if I win, you must marry.” “Sure silly mortal, but if I win, you must join the hunt, and give up men forever.” Salean gulped, but agreed. Zeus judged the contest, and Artemis won. Salean was so angry, and she would not join the hunt. So Artemis threw her up into the sky as a eternal prison. Every 6-8 hour Salean would try to escape, but Artemis would come out of Olympus and check on her. That’s how the moon rises.
