  4. Works Without Faith • Pharisees and Sadducees attempted to invalidate Christ and His message • Tried to make Christianity a religion versus a relationship • They were saying “To ‘get in’ your must obey a certain set of rules.”

  5. A Faith that Works • Christianity is about a relationship with the living God • You don’t get in by what you do, you get in by what you believe.

Gen 1:27

  10. How do you start a revival? • “Go home, lock yourself in your room, draw a circle around yourself, and pray fervently that God would start a revival within that chalk circle.” Gipsy Smith

  11. Six ways to start a personal revival • 1. Reject fear  • John 14:1 • Phil 4:6-8 • But how? Phil 4:6-8 • Bring your concerns to Him • Memorize Phil 4:6-7 • Don’t fixate on the threats, dangers and sources of anxiety in your own life. • Meditate on the things of God

A call to action • ‘We have been silent witnesses of evil deeds; we have been drenched by many storms; we have learnt the arts of equivocation and pretence; experience has made us suspicious of others and kept us from being truthful and open; intolerable conflicts have worn us down and even made us cynical. Are we still of any use? What we shall need is not geniuses or cynics or misanthropes, or clever tacticians, but plain, honest, straightforward men (and women). Bonhoeffer

  13. Six ways to start a personal revival 2. Recommit yourself to a study of His word, Duet 6:6-9 • A HUMMER is a sound vehicle to take into a war zone. • Hear it • Understand/Discuss it with other believers • Mediate on it • Memorize it • Evangelize/Teach it • Read it
