Brian Noble, bnoble@umich.edu • Campus heavily invested in shared cyberinfrastructure • Nyx: condo-model HPC cluster, 4K nodes • Flux: 8K nodes, most “rented” by core-month, growth expected • UM3DLab: immersive visualization • As computation/visualization capacity has grown, network has not kept up • CC-NIE Award: fix this imbalance • backbone improvements (10G -> 100G links) • data center connectivity (10G -> 100G at two data centers) • visualization lab connectivity (1G -> 10G) • expansion of perfSONAR/Fast Data Transfer deployment
