DEMOGRAPHICS -Large metropolitan area-3 counties with a total of 6 million people -FAU has a total of 5 campuses within the three counties -Public University with 58 majors from 6 colleges -31,000 Total Student population -8,200 students In the College of Business, -6,500 undergraduate (300 totally online) -1,700 graduate

  3. Disconnect because students are out of state/aren’t on campus • Students are not researching the College of Business prior to transferring • Gaps in information given to online students • Our way of advising new transfer online students wasn’t working Online population increasing

How to make advising appointment • How to utilize Canvas • COB policies and procedures • How to declare a major • How to register for courses • Campus resources available • COB internships and career services available • Only 4 students out of 38 were confident in their abilities in these areas, all others responded neutral or not at all. Give students everything they need to know for a successful transfer to FAU • Prevent gaps in information they were given during their online transfer orientation • Provide the student with resources for success • Form connection with student through videos and information Canvas course shell goals
