Team Wildcat Expectations Be on Time! • Be in your seat ready to start class. • Do not socialize in the halls. • Getting to class on time is important! • This includes homework. Late homework will be accepted for partial credit based on assignment type and teacher discretion.
Team Wildcat Expectations Be Responsible! • Have your supplies and materials out and ready. • Have your books needed for class. • Make sure homework is completed to the best of your ability. • Study for tests and quizzes.

Flexible Scheduling Our team may adapt the schedule when necessary for: • Interdisciplinary activities • Guest speakers • School assemblies • Whenever longer periods of time are required to aid learning
Delay Starts • Nordonia Hills City Schools will have four delay starts this school year to provide in-service for the staff. • November, February, March and May. • The bus will pick the students up exactly 2 hours later than normal. Dismissal time remains the same. • The students will have shortened class periods to accommodate the teacher in-services.
Lunch Schedule • Wildcat students will have the split lunch. Please see your child’s schedule for more details on lunch times, locker/restroom times and intervention times. The entire school will be conducting intervention and enrichment lessons developed by the teachers. These lessons are taught during the intervention time frame around lunch.
Payment of Fees & Cafeteria Charges • School Fees • School Fees can be paid with cash, checks or money orders at each building. • An online service called EZ Pay is available for parents who wish to pay using credit cards. • EZ Pay is available on the school website. • www.SPSEZpaynordonia.com • There is no fee to use this service.
Payment of Fees & Cafeteria Charges • Cafeteria Charges • Cafeteria Charges can be paid at the schools with cash and money orders. Personal Checks will only be accepted until September 30, 2010. • The District was forced to make this change due to the increased number of returned NSF checks from the bank. This made it unable for The District to collect on them. • As of now, the cafeteria registers and software are available at www.myschoolaccount.com and unfortunately, there is a fee for this option.
Core Classes Science • The seventh grade science curriculum covers life science. • Life science emphasizes understanding the structure and function of living systems and how they interact with the environment. • Life science includes: • Biomes of the world • Ecology • Heredity / genetics • Adaptation of animals to their environments
The 7th grade World History curriculum focuses on the study of ancient civilizations of the world through the First Global Age. Civilizations include: India China Greece Rome The Middle Ages The Renaissance Western Africa The First Global Age Core ClassesWorld History
Core ClassesWorld History • The World History textbooks are online! • Students will receive a personal password to access their online book account. • Please keep this password in a safe place!

Staying Connected Grades • You can view your child’s assigned homework and progress at any time by checking progress book. • Grades will be updated at least weekly. • We encourage take an active role in your child’s academic progress
Grading Policy • Assessments of Achievement (90% of grade). Any assignment, test, quiz or project that assess student knowledge of the standard which is to be mastered. These items may include but are not limited to tests, quizzes, labs, projects written essays and presentations.
Grading Policy (continued) • Items not directly reflecting student achievement (10% of grade). Any assignment that allows students to practice a skill/concept learned in class, prepares students for an upcoming lesson or offers an enrichment opportunity to challenge students thinking. These items may include but are not limited to homework, supply checks and participation grades.
