WHO IS TUE GREENFORT? • Tue Greenfort is a Danish artist who was born in 1973. He lives and works in Berlin, Germany where he is represented by KÖNIG GALERIE. • He studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste (Städelschule), Frankfurtand at the am Main and at Academy of Fünen, Denmark. • He is an environmentalist, artist, and activist. • His interdisciplinary practice is both direct action and social critique.
HIS INTENSIONS • His work looks at natural and technical cycles with a great deal of critical commitment and an equally large helping of profound humour, with ecological viewpoints at the centre of his interest. • He is fascinated by the dynamics in the natural world and work often evolves around ecology and its history, including the environment, social relations, and human subjectivity.
He is helping art institutions lower their energy costs. • Greenfort’s works reflect his interest in issues of ecology and economics: thinking in global terms, he examines our approach to environmental protection and biodiversity, to resources and sustainable development in view of dwindling supplies of certain materials, relating these themes to the system of art.
