A Complete Guide TO ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)

Intracytoplasmic Sperm injection is a type of assisted reproductive treatment that is pretty helpful for couples facing delays in pregnancy. It is a specialized IVF treatment that is used in severe cases, especially where the male partner is sterile. In normal In-Vitro-fertilization, a large number of sperm cells are placed in the dish to infuse with the female's egg. 1. A Complete Guide To ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) "Increase Your Chances of Having A Baby With ICSI Treatment" Intracytoplasmic Sperm injection is a type of assisted reproductive treatment that is pretty helpful for couples facing delays in pregnancy. It is a specialized IVF treatment that is used in severe cases, especially where the male partner is sterile. In normal In-Vitro-fertilization, a large number of sperm cells are placed in the dish to infuse with the female's egg. However, when it is partnered with ICSI, only the single and the healthiest sperm is injected into the female's egg to get positive outcomes. Then the fertilized egg is kept in the lab environment at a specified temperature for a few days. When an egg turns into the embryo, it is placed back in the female's womb. As mentioned above, this type of technology is typically used in cases where males have severe infertility.

  2. ●Oligospermia: When the sperm count of males is extremely low, the condition is known as Oligospermia. There are various causes of this problem, including swelling in the veins carrying sperm cells from testes, infection, ejaculation issues, and harmful effects of heavy drugs. However, sometimes it can be treated with medication and surgery. But, in extreme cases, ICSI treatment is the only solution to having a baby. ●Asthenozoospermia: The males experiencing Asthenozoospermia also get a chance to become parents with ICSI treatment. This disorder is related to low sperm motility, which prevents the sperm cell from reaching the female's egg. Metabolic deficiencies and genetic issues are the key causes of Asthenozoospermia. ●Teratozoospermia: It is related to the wired and abnormal shape of the sperm cells. Tetatozoospermia occurs when a male's abnormal morphology is greater than 96% of his total sperm sample. These abnormal-shaped sperm are not able to reach the egg for the fertilization process and lead to infertility issues. However, in some cases, it can be cured by eating a well-balanced diet and opting for a healthy lifestyle. There are also a few males whose sperm count and quality are up to the mark, but they feel it is tough to ejaculate the semen. In such cases, the TESE (testicular retrieval) process is used to retrieve sperm, and then ICSI is followed to get the single healthiest sperm. Now Next Question in the row is how ICSI is done? Let us discuss it in detail. Most of the time, it is done to assist IVF treatment. Just like other assisted reproductive treatments, some drugs are given to patients, and then some blood tests and ultrasounds are carried to monitor the results. When enough healthy eggs are found in the uterus, they will be collected by the lab technician with the help of a fine needle and ultrasound. The egg collection procedure is approximately about 15-20 mins. Cramps and vaginal bleeding are quite common after this process. The male partner is asked to give a semen sample in a special box if the couple is not planning to use a sperm donor. Then lab technicians select the healthiest and the well-matured sperm for insemination through Sperm Slow procedure. After that, sperm is injected into the egg through a special needle. The egg is kept for 3-5 days at optimal temperature, and when the embryo is grown, it is transferred to the woman's uterus with the help of a catcher through the cervix. Cost Of ICSI
