From the inventory to the assessment of the measuresa collaborative work by Budapest, 30/03/2011 Carlo Giupponi
WISE-RTD A web-based interface will provide access to CWA data bases within the WISE-RTD portal The user will be able to identify a selection of adaptation measures and related information and export/download them for the assessment using mDSS
Adaptation Measures Viewer (demo) The web-based Adaptation Measure Viewer provides background information on measure. Measure can be selected according to filtering rules and downloaded locally.
Evaluation criteria • effectiveness • economic efficiency • side-effects • performance under uncertainty • Conditions for decision making
mDSS used by local experts for preliminary assessment of alternative measures Application example:
Application context • The users have previously identified a subset of measures of interest by querying the ClimWatAdapt Database of Adaptation Measures within the Wise-Rtd portal • They have downloaded the subset DB in a local PC • They launched mDSS • NOTE: values obtained for demonstration purposes at CMCC
Elements of the IAF activated for the demo (and for the expert knowledge elicitation exercise) (3)
Weighting exercise • 11 sub-criteria grouped in 5 criteria are used for the assessment of the measures: multiple assessment dimensions MCAM • Relative weights are needed to express the relative importance of each (sub)criterion in order to perform aggregation • weights are subjective
