Introduction to China • The Chinese began to trade with Great Britain after being pressured to do so. • What do you think the British wanted to do? • To gain control in China,The British began to bring opium (an addictive drug) to China. • This caused tension, and two wars were fought over this drug.

What are some characteristics of a Communist country? • One of the most controversial leaders of Communist China was Mao Zedong.
