CIHR INSTITUTES • Virtual networks of researchers and funding partners • Led by Scientific Director and Institute Advisory Board • Allows development of collaborative strategic areas of research of national importance • Brings together different investigators, from basic science to population health, in research teams that may be transnational • Fosters and nurtures new investigators through training programs
