  2. TOO = příliš (NOT) ENOUGH = (ne) dost The soup isn´t salty enough. adjective + enough There are enough chairs in the classroom. I don´t have enough time. enough + plural countable and uncountable noun The soup is too hot. too + adjecitive There are too many people. too many + plural countable nouns There is too much noise. too much + uncountable nouns

  3. TOO / NOT ENOUGH + to infinitivepříliš / ne dost… na to, aby… I´m too lazy to go for a walk. It´s too cold to have a swim. There are too few people to start the meeting. She isn´t slim enough to become a model. He doesn´t run fast enough to win the race. I don´t have enough money to buy the ticket. Compare: It´s too cold to wear shorts. = It´s not warm enough to wear shorts. She is too young to get married. = She isn´t old enough to get married. There´s too little snow to go skiing = There´s not enough snow to go skiing.

  4. TOO / NOT ENOUGH + for sb. + to infinitive The coffee is too hot for me to drink. This exercise is easy enough for everybody to do. The experiment isn´t secure enough for anybody to try. There are not enough chairs for all students to sit. Is it clear enough for you to understand? I hope the exercises won´t be too difficult for you to do.

The teacher wasn´t satisfied. • You don´t eat a lot of vegetables and fruit. You won´t be slim. • The hotel is very expensive. We can´t afford to stay more than two nights. • The street is narrow. The lorry can´t overtake us.
