TES Homework Policy Research indicates that homework has zero effect on student achievement at the elementary level. We will not assign homework as a required or graded instructional practice. However, research does indicate that home learning opportunities such as reading, engaging in online games and programs, choice boards of activities that support instructional topics, and fun ways to develop oral language and social awareness encourage family participation and can improve student efficacy and cultivate positive parent support. We certainly want to support the home learning environment!
