Issue/Opportunity – Aging Workforce • In Blind River, three quarters of the labour force (population 15 and over) is 40+. • Based on the assumption that almost all of these people will retire by the age of 65, this means that 2,150 of the people who are in the 40+ category are projected to exit the labour force over the next 20 years and be replaced by the 1,395 people who are under the age of 40.
