  13. Unions can and should ...... • Resist jobs displacement • Oppose exploitative work experience programmes • Continue to explain the importance of Community Employment Schemes

But Unions need to ..... • Decide to be champions of the young and the unemployed • Ally with youth and students to demand and campaign for good internships • Seek joint monitoring role for work programmes/internships (like SES) • offer, in return, to negotiate at company level, placements/opportunities • Advise and support interns

  15. Gain influence over the schemes/policy direction • Become relevant to the next generation!
