Auto Payroll Deduction • Students who have been awarded a student employment award, applied for a position and are ready to begin working have the option to enroll in automatic payroll deduction to help pay their student bill
Student Employment Withholding Students who wish to apply a portion of their earnings should download and complete the Student Employment Withholding Authorization Form at www.uml.edu/FinancialAid/employment/Forms.aspx • Forms are valid for the length of the contract only • Students must complete a new form for each term they wish to use the withholding option • REF: FA_55_FORM_SE_Withholding_70-30 for more details
Withholding Termination Students who chose to have their earnings automatically deducted and wish to stop the process should download and complete the Student Employment Termination of Withholding Form at www.uml.edu/FinancialAid/employment/Forms.aspx • Forms are valid for the length of the contract only • Students must complete a new form for each term they wish to use the withholding option • Terminating the deductions may result in a balance due on the student account, which they will be required to pay • REF: FA_55_FORM_SE_Withholding_70-30 for more details
70/30 Form Process • Once the 70/30 Withholding Form is processed: • Student authorizes 70% of their Student Employment earnings be applied directly to account balance • The student will receive a check for the remaining 30% of their earnings until their balance is paid in full • Forms are valid for the length of the contract only and students must complete a new form for each term they wish to use the withholding option
Applying Earnings Towards Bill • If a student wishes to apply 100% of their earnings towards the bill: • Advise student to submit the portion of their check (30%) to the Bursar’s office and ask them to reapply these funds to the student’s account • Students who receive their funds via Direct Deposit must make a manual payments to their account • Student Employment Direct Deposit needs to be completed through HRDirect and is a separate process from the refund process in ISIS • Students can complete this in paper form or submit their request directly in HRDirect (Paper Form: www.uml.edu/docs/Direct%20Deposit%20Form%20doc%20fillable%205-9-12_tcm18-87680.pdf)
