Why Should I Teach It? • You use your five senses everyday to get to know and understand the world around you • HEK.4: Students will demonstrate the ability to use interpersonal communication skills to enhance health and avoid or reduce health risks. • Develop listening skills to enhance health.

  3. Need to Know • Sounds are everywhere, and you have two body parts that let you hear them all: your ears • Your ears are in charge of collecting sounds, processing them, and sending sound signals to your brain • Your ears also help you keep your balance

  4. Nice to Know • Your ears (& earwax) help protect your from infections and collecting dirt • Wear earplugs at loud music concerts and around noisy machinery • Keep the volume down on your stereo • Don’t poke around in your ears, even with cotton swabs Fun Fact
