Conclusion • We developed an web application which integrate sentiment analysis, geocoding, influential user and region of interest to analyze the evolution of civil unrest. • We showed people’s attitudes toward a given civil unrest. In general most civil unrest protest are negative while election protest are neutral.

Conclusion • We developed an algorithm for geocoding, which can not only extract geo information in tweets, but also predict locations for those tweets without geo information. • We found that civil unrest related influence distribution may follow normal distribution instead of power law distribution. • We found that the region of interest increased as time went by in Boston Bomb.
