  3. Critical Situation/Problem • Hispanics are largest growing population • Chronic liver diseases 12th leading cause of death • Mortality 50% higher than non-Hispanic Whites

  4. Rhetorical Timing • Socioeconomic and Acculturation stress • Hispanic men drinking patterns • Machismo continues as cultural norm

  5. “They Say” Effects: • Liver disease 6th cause of death (Cirrhosis) • Family loss Causes: • Men use alcohol to show masculinity • Hispanic culture of Machismo • Stress from immigration to new society
