How do I develop my exhibit? Peter Dunai Essen, 5th May 2013.
The concept of the development (I.) • Traditional, historical and chronological approach; • Introduction of the Hungarian Holy Kings St.Stephen, St. Emeric, St.Ladislas; • Dynastic background, ancestry; • Mythical ancestor of the Hungarians: the Turul-bird; • History of the ancient Hungarians: their settlement in the Carpathian Basin; • Introduction of Arpad: the founder of the dynasty.
The concept of the development (II.) • St. Stephen, the founder of the State = fight against the tribal leaders; = evangelization of his people; = founding of the Hungarian state = the first crowned Hungarian King • St. Emeric, the prince with lilies; • St. Ladislas, the Knight-King = fight against the Cumans; = strengthening the royal power in Hungary; = incorporation of Croatia into the Hungarian Kingdom = canonization of the first Hungarian King and his son;
The concept of the development (III.) • the cult of the Holy Kings = the Holy Crown and the Regalia = the settlements, bearing their name (churches, consacrated to their names) • the contemporary Holy Kings in Europe • the Holy descendants of the dynasty = St. Elisabeth ( of Thuringie ) = St. Margaret
Other important aspects of the development • the presence of the widest range of different philatelic materials • the presence of appropriate philatelic studies; • the presence of as many „international” materials as available; • the balanced use of thematic and philatelic information in the text.
The „history” of the exhibition material • 1997: first presentation in national level; • 2000: gold medal in national exhibition; • Belgica 2001 : first international (FIP) presentation • Brno 2005 : first large vermeil (85) • Efiro 2008 : first gold medal (92) at FIP level • Participation in the ECTP ( 2007, 2011 )
The possibilites of the further development • a more integrated approach of the history of the medieval European Christianity, through the activity of the Hungarian Holy Kings, = to analyse the influence of their activity on the history of the European Christianity; = to analyse and compare the different types of Holy Kings in the European history ( the martyr, the evangelist, and the Knight-King) = to strengthen the part, which shows the international aspects of their activity • to preserve the basic structure, but broaden the international aspects;
