  3. PARTICIPATIVE APPROACH • Has been based on bottom-up approach and full participation of all stakeholders

  4. Linkages & Synergy UNCCD UNCBD National Development Strategies UNFCCC GEAP, MEAs

  5. main objectives • To sensitize the general Gambian population about the environmental Conventions such as the CCD, the FCCC and the CBD, their provisions and their relevance to the current Gambia environmental situation; • To get the views of the local communities about the causes of Desertification in the country; and, • To allow the local communities to participate in defining strategies and elaborating plans for Combating Desertification in the country through cooperation, coordination and partnership arrangements.
