TREATMENT OR RECCOMENDATIONS • Anorexia is treated at the stage the patient is at. • If they are severe, hospitalization is required’ • Medication can be needed to relieve depression and anxiety. • It is important that a nutritionist is there to change old patterns and create healthier, new ones. • RECOVERY: is when they have maintained their normal body weight, in women regular menstrual cycles and elimination of major food fears. • It takes a long time to recover, but with treatment, a few people recover within a year or less if they stick to it.

PREVENTION OF ANOREXIA • There is no prevention for anorexia, but one must look out for the warning signs which may include: skipping meals, preoccupied with fat and calorie content, shows anxiety before eating and guilt after eating, exercise behaviors, emotional behaviors, appearance or body image behaviour. • Someone with anorexia needs to be helped as soon as possible, because they longer they wait, the longer the road to recovery.
4. MEAL PLAN • It is very important that a healthy diet is followed, and that the patient eats a variety of foods, including plenty of vegetables and fruit and not too much fat or added sugar.

They are terrified of gaining weight. • People who are mostly affected with anorexia are teenage girls because of the pressure they have from their society and school. • There is no prevention of this disease, but it is very important that one must look out for the warning signs. • However, a person with anorexia can get better with the help of a health care team, support from their family and friends.
