  3. Pre-activity foods should exclude: Fatty foods Gas forming foods Salt tablets Nutritional supplements Drink plenty of water or electrolyte drinks!! Nutrition Remember that the total diet consumed during the days before the eventis far more important than the meal eaten immediately prior to strenuous exercise!!

  4. Society has placed an emphasis on these issues in the last 30 years through media. Affects females primarily Male athletes may be involved Eating Disorders

  5. Medical condition where the person sees themselves as over weight while in reality they might be very under weight Sports most affected Cheerleading Gymnastics Cross country Wrestling Figure skating Anorexia Nervosa

  6. Medical condition characterized by binge eating and then purging of the food Consumes large quantities of food Immediately purge the food Is a psychological problem Bulimia

  7. Gender specific condition Involves disordered eating, absence of menstruation, and loss of bone density Conditions combine to very serious health issues Prompt referral is recommended Female Athlete Triad

  8. Primarily transmitted through touch, not by coughing or sneezing Viruses can live for several days on hard surfaces Not a solid treatment Returning too soon can cause the virus to linger Common Cold

  9. Number of skin conditions Range from minor to medical emergency Must establish a protocol Skin Conditions
