Canary Wharf Station London, UK, 1991-1999 Designed by Foster and Partners The entire roof of the station is laid out as a landscaped park; the only visible station elements are the swelling glass canopies that cover its three entrances and draw daylight deep into the station concourse. At 300 meters in length it is as long as Canary Wharf Tower is tall. The robust aesthetic is achieved by a simple palette of hard-wearing materials that create the dramatic atmosphere.

LESSONS AND PROJECTIONS: 2030 Separated at Birth!!?! • From reading the documents we realised that there is a discrepancy between the documents and the desired outcomes (there is a gap between the reality and portrayed media) • So when approaching the Sydney 2030 Metro, we believe that there should be a better balance achieved between the media (written or photographic) and the actual product.
