  3. Objective: Plans Open Automation • To automate the process of informing users about an upcoming movie in their preferred venue • Additionally, segment basis user’s preferred language and genre so as to avoid targeting irrelevant users • Flexibility to have this carried out on real-time basis

  4. Challenges: • Lack of information once the show goes live in user’s preferred venue. Due to which, user was unable to choose his preferred seats/shows • Inability to schedule campaigns in advance since bookings for venues go live in phases • Due to which, a manual check was unavoidable and the campaigns would only then be set up • Campaigns were setup manually at frequent intervals so as to include the new venues

Execution: • An automation tool was developed with the ability to schedule in advance for a particular movie and put a check of the preferred language/genre for it with the help of CleverTap • This tool incorporated an algorithm which would check if the movie has opened for booking by tapping all the cinemas and regions present

  8. Result: • BookMyShow saw a 40% increase in click rate • 3X conversion rate than average rate
