The Lafayette Sheriff’s LRP program, established in 2007, enhances youth's internal strengths to prevent substance abuse and violence. Through Resiliency Groups, Community Service, and Adventure Activities, the program reduces disciplinary actions, boosts confidence, raises awareness of social issues, and fosters community involvement. The program also includes a Summer Camp attended by Middle School and High School students, offering summer recreation activities with learning opportunities. The program aims to expand into more schools, measure student progress, improve parental involvement, and achieve 100% high school participation. In the realm of Corrections Training, the FTO program, NIC Supervisor Training, and Area-Specific Training equip officers with the necessary skills. Goals include completing ACA Training Academy accreditation, enhancing training quality, and improving informational outreach and communications.
