  1. LO: To revise apostrophe use. For each type of apostrophe, write the example, followed by your own example. Contraction - It’s been a very busy term. Contraction of it + has. Singular Possessive – Mr. Harpham’s speech was inspiring. One person owns – Sir owns his speech. Simple Plural - Thirty students visited the museum. Simply more than one – NO apostrophe! Plural Possessive – The students’ assembly was fantastic. More than one person owns – ALL students own assembly.

Combines the words ‘they’ and ‘have’. 2. ‘Today’s findings were…’ (London Evening Standard) – Singular possessive as today ‘owns’ its findings. 3. ‘Workers’ Entrance’ (Local Building site) – Plural Possessive as more than one worker ‘owns’ their entrance.
