  4. Notable lecturers • We have an outstanding pool of lecturers • Many teach classes for TT faculty course releases • A few have expertise not found in the TT faculty that we rely on for service obligations, such as: • Dr. Penny Perkins – human anatomy, physiology, and histology.

  5. Faculty research Over the past five years biology faculty have: • produced 129 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters • presented 132 talks and posters (often given by students) • Acquired over $10M in external support from NIH, NSF, USDA, and other state and federal agencies.

  6. Programs offered and number of students • BS in Biology – 224 majors • General concentration • Cell/Molecular Biology Concentration • Physiology Concentration • Ecology Concentration BS in Biotechnology – 72 majors MS in Biology – 32 MS candidates Total = 328 (fall 2011 census)

Lab technicians • Lynsey Robertson (Lead IST) – in charge of lab budget, supervises IST's, preps labs in Sci I • Courtney Nance-Sotelo (IST) – preps labs in Sci II • Jeani Cressey (IST) – preps labs in Sci I • Vivarium tech (to be hired) – animal care for vivarium in Sci I • Various student assistants, typically 2-3 per year
