Hollowford Centre October 2012 • Depart from school Tuesday 23rd October 9:15am approx. • No packed lunch required • Return to school Friday 26th October 4.00pm approx. • Your child must be collected from school on Friday, please ensure they know who is meeting them • Travel to/from Hollowford is by coach, travel while at the centre is by minibus – all vehicles have seatbelts fitted

Accommodation at the centre • Situated in Castleton, Derbyshire • Rooms are single-sex, sleeping 3-5 pupils • All rooms have en-suite facilities • Communal areas include; dining room, common room, games room, tuck-shop, play area & playing field • Each school present has exclusive use of the above • All meals are provided; breakfast, lunch & dinner

  5. Activities • Activities include • Problem solving • High ropes • Canoeing • Weaseling • Abseiling • Caving • Village Walk - Raft building - Zip Wire - Bushcraft

  6. A Typical Day • Breakfast • Morning briefing • Morning activity 9am-12.30pm • Lunch • Afternoon briefing • Afternoon activity 1.30-4.30pm • Shower/relax time • Dinner 6-ish • Meet-up 7pm • Evening activities/tuck shop 7.15pm onwards

Hat Gloves Sweaters/Sweatshirts Jogging bottoms T-shirts 2 pairs shoes suitable for activities (trainers/boots) Indoor footwear Sleeping Clothes Underwear/socks 2 towels Toiletries Strong plastic bags Tissues Insect repellent, sun cream, aftersun – you never know! Suggested Kit List • Specialist Equipment is provided by the centre • All clothing should be old/cheap/easily replaceable For further detail, please see handout provided
