Background Requirements: Increase accessibility to FAOSTAT data • Improve system performance and efficiency • Strengthen FAOSTAT data exchange capacity • Add visualization and analysis tools Implementation: • Pilot application (FAOSTAT3) built using open-source software developed by FAO (FENIX). FAOSTAT3 is currently under evaluation • Links with the FAO Statistical Data Warehouse (under development)
Comparative advantages Speed Improved performance to: • Create charts, maps or tables on-the-fly • Perform real-time calculations • Download large volumes of data
