My Birth into the Skating World Everybody knows you need to flexible to skate. I was literally born on February 9, 1999 in Pennsylvania in a split position. It really has helped me do the more advanced jumps. Unfortunately, I couldn’t be born like that, so I’m not as flexible as a naturally should be!
My Childhood of Skating Everything I did when I was little revolved around the Olympic Games. I tried to do gymnastics, but then got hooked on skating!
Balancing School and Ice Skating Balancing one of the two things I love is hard. I go ice skating three times a week for two hours. When I can, I try to do my jumps during gym. My mom says if I don’t keep up with my grades (I have gotten all As so far) I need to quit ice skating! But school seems easy for me! Almost as easy as the loop jump!
Skating at Home All my family has supported me in my love for skating. I am the first person in my family to ice skate, so we get confused on rules sometimes. But all the coaches at my ice rink as super nice! ☺
Special in my own way I am very different from all my ice skating friends. Most of my friends only do their own routines. I love making new routines on the spot to any music I hear. I have also started to compose my own skating music! But I’ve noticed that some of the girls complain about everything. I haven’t complain once at my rink. I guess that’s why I got skater of the month!
Skater of the Month Just recently, I got rewarded skater of the month! My coaches said I was the most hard working and by far deserved it. For a prize, I got a whole month of free workshops and off ice training!
Olympic Dreams Ever since I saw the 2010 Winter Olympics, my dream was to get there for the beautiful sport of figure skating. I have worked extremely hard and hope to reach my goal soon. Just remember, believe it and you can achieve it!
