It’s more than a game, it’s your life! Some facts and figures about young internet users: • They spend 10% more time online than a year ago. • sleep 2 to 3 hours less per night than 10 years ago. • spend on average 8 hours weekly playing online game. • spend per year 850 hours in school, 1,500 hours in front of screen and… • only 50 hours discussing important issues with parents! 15% say “I find it easier to be myself on the internet than when I am with people face-to-face”? and 37% say this is a bit true*. • *Source: EU Kids Online survey 2010

Our Mission The mission of the INHOPE Association is to support and enhance the performance of Internet Hotlines around the World, ensuring swift action is taken in responding to reports of illegal content to make the Internet a safer place Co-funded By the European Union
Who is INHOPE? • INHOPE was founded in 1999 under the European Commission’s Safer Internet Action Plan to combat these growing concerns • INHOPE represents and co-ordinates the global network of 39 Internet Hotlines in 34 Countries, supporting them in their fight against illegal content to make the Internet safer
Internet Hotlines • National contact point for the public to report illegal content on the Internet • Illegality of the reported sites is investigated by trained professional analysts • Origin of the illegal sites is traced • Information concerning the illegal site is passed to the member Hotline in the country of origin • Hotline in the country of origin informs the national law enforcement agency • Law enforcement procedures in national and international level • Internet Service Provider contacted by the Law Enforcement or the Hotline – depending on the national agreement • INHOPE best practice standards
INHOPE Goals • To maintain a worldwide network of national Hotlines • To ensure rapid and effective response to reports of illegal content by developing consistent, effective and secure mechanisms for exchange of reports between Hotlines internationally • To implement INHOPE best practice standards, instigate training and encourage exchange of expertise

INHOPE URL Database • In order to gain more relevant information and to intensifythe work a shared URL database will be created • Reduce duplication of reports passed to Law Enforcement • Provides a global view of the problem related to the images of child sexual abuse • More relevant information for developing strategies to tackle the problem
