Purpose • RF’s FW PA – 40%: • 179 Be-armored enhanced heat flux panels should be manufactured (1.5х1.0х0.2) m • Total armoring area - 270 m2 • Be-thickness - 8 mm • Be-tiles dimensions– (50х16x8) mm • Total weight of the Be-tiles - 4 t ~40 fingers per panel ~ 700 m2 of Be-armoured FW panels, ~ 10 tons of Be-tiles Castellated tiles (16x50x8) mm N~ 325 000

Be-tiles manufacturing • Two beryllium grades are using in RF for the tiles manufacturing: • TGP-56FW: initial material – vacuum melted beryllium ingots from Ulba plant • S-65 tiles: initial materials - VHP blocks from Materion TGP-56FW technological line Pressing of the billets Be ingots Powdering Powder separating Cleaning/ Packaging Wire EDM for the tiles Chemical etching of the tiles S-65 technological line Vacuum Hot Pressed billet Wire EDM for the tiles Chemical etching of the tiles Cleaning/ Packaging

  8. Be-contamination conditions for RF suppliers * - The premises with periodic stay of the staff ** - The respiratory protection required if Be in airborne Be >0.2 µg/m3 or if Be at surface >30 µg/m2
