  2. (516) 512-8888 The decision to donate your eggs is a noble one. However the process is lengthy as it requires a series of steps that the potential donor must complete in order to determine their eligibility to participate in the egg donation process. A majority of these steps involve screening tests. After completing and submitting your online application, it will be thoroughly reviewed. If accepted, you will be contacted by a member of the Rite Options team. This is an opportunity to have all your questions answered. It is at this time that you will be informed of the screening tests and appointments you need to complete prior to starting the treatment cycle. A majority of these tests are deemed necessary by the FDA, therefore they must be completed prior to matching you with the recipients.

  4. (516) 512-8888 The following screening tests are required in the egg donation process: Initial Interview: During your visit, two team members from Rite Options will meet you to review everything that is involved in the treatment cycle and testing procedure. The egg retrieval process will also be discussed in detail. You will be required to complete a FDA screening questionnaire and a set of consent forms. Physical Examination: You will undergo a physical examination which includes a pelvic exam, cervical cultures and pap smear.

  5. (516) 512-8888 Blood Work: Blood work is also necessary in order to prevent the transmission of communicable diseases during the egg donation process. This is a FDA Screening Blood work. It screens for HIV-1, HIV-2, RPR, Chlamydia cultures, Hepatitis B Core Antibody, Hepatitis Surface Antigen and Hepatitis C Antibody. Genetic testing and counseling will also be required to prevent the chance of genetic disorders.

  6. (516) 512-8888 Psychological Evaluation: All egg donors are thoroughly interviewed by a social worker or psychologist. They must complete the MMPI-a psychological assessment. Your psychological readiness for the entire process and understanding of informed consent will also be assessed. There will also be a discussion on psychological issues. Other Testing: Since you will be required to take certain medications in order to sync your ovulation cycle with the recipient, you will receive medication instructions. Baseline ultrasounds will be performed on day 3 of your cycle.
