Vision • Leadership isn’t about being meek and small-minded. It’s about being bold and courageous. It’s about thinking big and envisioning possibility. • Breeze and Carter
Vision • What kind of thinking was required thousands of years ago to create such structures as the great pyramids, or the Wall of China?
Vision • Take a moment to refer to the self-assessment you did last class. How capable are you of doing the following tasks?
Vision • 1. Seeing new ways of doing things • 2. Setting goals • 3. Dealing with ambiguity and unknown outcomes. • 4. Anticipating trends • 5. Seeing adversity as an opportunity for creativity. • 6.Challenging the way things are usually done. • 7.Stepping forward with courage.
Vision • If you do not have the knack for visionary thinking, it will just take some practice. It might also require that you challenge your view of yourself. • Have the courage to think big and take responsible risks. The ideas will follow.

Develop your own visionary speech • Below are some questions that may help you develop your speech: • What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? • Imagine you won the lottory and were required to spend half the money on a cause. Which cause would you choose? • What would you do if you only had one year to live? • What would you do if noone was watching you? • What would you do if everyone was watching you?
