  2. Who protected the King? • The knights did. The kings made the knights swear loyalty to them in exchange for land, money, and rank, but some leaders of a group swore and made the rest of the pack do it to. • There were also archers

  3. What types of armor do knights wear? • Knights wear a vambrance, a helmet, breastplate, gauntlets ,cuisse, greaves, and a sword could also be used as defense.

  4. What are knights weapons? • Knights had lances, swords, battle axes, war hammers, daggers, flail, buckler, and a shield

  5. The people of the renaissance were grotesque • Forms of torture were thumbscrews (they are little nails that they would jab into criminals). • Pillory (which was a stoning but instead of stones it was rotten vegetables). • Being burned at the stakes

  6. Other Punishment • Branding and other ways of being burned • Quartering by the wheel (it was when someone was tied to the spokes of a wheel when it turned the criminal would be beat ,whipped etc. ) • being hanged • Ripping out teeth • Beating • Blinding • Boiling

  7. What were other weapons? • There was also the crossbow • a match look gun was invented in the late 1400s

  8. Common Soldiers • In the late 1400 the common man was trained for battle • With the invention of the gun instead of paying knights they used peasants instead

  9. Knights V.S Peasants the surprise ending • With the invention of guns peasants were trained • The guns could blast through the knights armor • In the end peasants win with the gun

  10. Crossbows and the Pope • With the invention of crossbows they became popular • The Pope thought they were unsporting and banned them • But that did not stop the crossbows popularity
